This or That? With DJ
Head or Tail?
Digital or Analogue?
I like digital stuff more than analogue. When I was younger, I couldn’t afford vinyl, so I collected bootleg music on cassettes. Nowadays, all my music is digital, and I mostly use Apple Music. It’s all about streaming and the cloud for me.
Sweet or Sour?
I enjoy both sweet and sour things. I like a bit of sweet stuff like ice cream and desserts, and I also like sweet fruits such as pineapple, papaya, and strawberries. But I also enjoy sour things like raw, green mangoes, sour apricots and tangy hummus. I’m a total sweet tooth but I do have a soft spot for sour things.
Home-cooked or takeaway?
I prefer homemade food over takeout. I rarely get takeout, maybe because I didn’t eat out much as a kid. Home-cooked wins every time for me. Takeout is just a rare treat, more of a pain because my mind is not programmed for takeout food.
Books or Movies?
I’m into both books and movies, but if I had to choose, books would be my top pick. I read a lot, but I also love watching art-house movies on platforms like Mubi. I’m an avid reader, a life-long habit. I cannot fall asleep without reading something.
Summer or Winter?
I like summer more than winter. I grew up in warm places like Sri Lanka and Dubai, where even winter is like summer in Australia. I can handle the heat anytime. When friends complain that it’s hot, I wish I could tell them, “You don’t know what hot is.” Summer all the way!
Classic or Pop?
I listen to cool and ambient music, like Café Del Mar and Buddha Bar. I think they are the modern-day classic. In my younger years, I was into pop music from the seventies and eighties, with artists like Elton John, Santana, and David Bowie. I’m not really into today’s pop music; I guess I’m stuck in the music of the past.
